Step 1. Go To WordPress dashboard.
Our first step toward updating plugin is go to WordPress dashboard. And search for updates.
WordPress dashboard will show you update notification. It is below the home button in WordPress dashboard as shown in the image.
Notification will show you how many updates are available. In my image there is only 1 notification.
If you want to do it from another option then go to the Plugins button below Appearance. I have marked both options with a rectangular box in the image.
The overall process of updating the plugin is the same. So, now I will click on the updates button.
Step 2 Update Plugins
Step 2.1. Click on Updates Button
Here my website has pending Yoast SEO plugin. In your case there may be more then one plugins to update.
- As shown in the image just click on the check box in-front of the plugin.
- Make sure select all is checked or ticked in case of more then 1 plugins.
- Now click on Update Plugins button.
You have done congratulations!
But if you want to update from plugins option the you will see another screen as below.
Step 2.2. Click on Plugins Button
When you will click on the plugins button some such kind of interface will be in front of you.
Here you can find the updated plugin by searching manually but I will recommend you to click on the Updates Available button.
Step 2.2.1 Click on Update Available
This will show you an update now button just click on that as show in rectangular box.
In just one click your plugin will be updated.
Step 2.2.2 Click on Update Available
Above method is quite easy for 1 or 2 plugins to install manually. But if you have multiple plugins to update then follow this method.
- If you don’t like this method then just check or tick mark in front of the Yoast plugin.
- Under the bulk action, the drop-down button selects the update option.
- Now click on the apply button.
- Congrats you have updated of your plugin.
How To Enable Automatic WordPress Plugin Update?
If you want to keep smooth working and highly secure to your website. Then you have to keep your plugins up to date.
Updating WordPress plugins manually is a time-consuming process. So, if you don’t want to waste your valuable time on manual plugin updates, then enable automatic WordPress plugin update option.
For Doing this you just have to follow Dashboard>Plugins>Enable Auto Update. Just follow the image and steps below.
- First of all go to WordPress Dashboard.
- Now click on plugins. All plugins will be in front of your screen.
- Each plugin has Enable Auto Update button as shown in box 3.
- Click on Enable Auto Update button.
- You have done!
Now this Enable button will turn into Disable button. If you don’t like auto enable option just click back to the enable button.
