How to Delete A WordPress Theme From Dashboard
In this process we have to follow the basic guidelines. Any one who know to work online can delete WordPress theme.
Step 1 Go to Dashboard And Click Theme
In this step first of all go to your WordPress dashboard. You can access your dashboard at https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin.
Step 2 Click Themes
Now to to Appearance and then themes option.
You will see some this kind of scene on your desktop screen.
Here you will see some automatic installed theme. Just bring your cursor to the theme that you want to delete.
In the above image, I have enclosed this with rectangular box.
When you will point your cursor on the desired theme. It will show you Activate and Live Preview button.
Just ignore them and click anywhere on the theme box. A new wide screen will show you things more clearly.
Step 3 Delete WordPress Theme
As shown in the image Delete button be shown in the bottom left side of the screen. Just click on the delete.
This will delete your WordPress theme complete from your WordPress website.
How To Delete A WordPress Theme From cPanel
Deleting the WordPress theme from hosting cPanel is a very simple process. But this is a little bit risky. So, if you have some basic idea of cPanel then go ahead.
Open File Manager cPanel
Your first step toward deleting the WordPress theme is to open your hosting cPanel. You will see the files directory.
Here find the file folder and open this.
Chose Your Website Folder Under Public_html
Here you will see Public_html directory. This consist all your existing websites. Each website has seperate folder with domain name.
Chose your website on which you want to delete the theme. follow the image instructions.
- If you are running only single website then you will not see any domain folder. Just click on Wp-Content folder under box 1.
- If you are running more then 1 websites then you will se option for domain folder.
In the above image I am running more then one website. So I will click on satendrasaini.com folder. You may click on your domain name folder.
Chose wp-content Folder and Open Themes Folder
When you will click on domain folder it will show you wp content folder. Open this and enter to themes folder.
Path: Wp-Content folder > Themes folder
Follow the images instructions:
Just click on themes folder and it will show you all themes install with your WordPress website.
Delete Your WordPress Theme
Now chose your default theme or unused theme to delete. Follow the image.
By default delete button will not be active to click.
Just select your theme to delete and button will be active.
Now click on the delete button and theme will be deleted from your WordPres website.
